By tradition the standard march pace for light infantry brigades is faster than other infantry regiments. Consequently their signature regimental marching tunes are faster paced.

The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry regimental march is a combination of an adaptation of a piece (Ein Schutz bin Ich) from Das Nachtlager in Granada –  a little known opera by a German (or possibly Austrian) composer - and a traditional Irish air the "Lower Castle Yard".

Although there was a regimental march The Buckinghamshire Battalion marched to their own march which was a tune called "The 95".
